IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: The signature levels described below are provided for informational purposes. CHEEZYSign does not guarantee that any electronic signature will be legally enforceable in all jurisdictions or circumstances. Legal enforceability depends on applicable law, document type, jurisdiction, and surrounding facts. Users should consult qualified legal counsel.

1. Standard Electronic Signature

Our Standard Electronic Signature allows you to sign documents quickly and securely online. It is suitable for general agreements, approvals, and low-risk transactions. Features include:

  • Timestamped record of the signature
  • IP logging for audit purposes
  • Encrypted transmission of the document
  • Email-based signer identification
  • Device fingerprinting
  • Tamper-evident document hash
  • Complete audit trail

Suitable for: Simple contracts, internal approvals, acknowledgments, and low-risk documents. Not suitable for: Legal agreements requiring strong enforceability, bank documents, government filings, or documents with significant legal or financial implications.

This level is designed to comply with the ESIGN Act (USA) and eIDAS (EU) for most low to medium risk transactions. Compliance is not guaranteed for all jurisdictions or use cases.

2. Advanced Electronic Signature (AES)

The Advanced Electronic Signature provides enhanced security and legal enforceability for most business and sensitive documents. Ideal for contracts, HR documents, and agreements with legal or financial implications.

  • All features of Standard Signature
  • Enhanced authentication of signer identity before signing
  • Cryptographic hash (SHA-256) to ensure integrity of the signed document
  • Comprehensive audit trail showing date, time, IP address, device, and browser used for signing
  • Session continuity verification
  • Multi-factor authentication support (where configured)

Suitable for: Business contracts, inter-company agreements, HR documents, rental contracts, vendor agreements, and other legally binding documents. Not suitable for: Bank documents, government filings, notarized agreements, or documents requiring a Qualified/Certified Signature under strict regulations.

The Advanced Electronic Signature is designed to comply with the ESIGN Act (USA) and eIDAS Advanced Signature standards in the European Union. Compliance is not guaranteed for all jurisdictions or use cases.

3. Qualified / Certified Electronic Signature (Optional)

For the highest legal assurance, CHEEZYSign supports qualified or certified electronic signatures where required. This includes identity verification through trusted certificate authorities and is suitable for high-risk legal documents such as notarized contracts, government filings, and financial agreements.

  • Certified identity verification through trusted certificate authorities
  • Strong cryptographic protection of the document
  • Full compliance with international e-signature laws (where available)
  • Qualified electronic signature certificates
  • Timestamping by qualified timestamping authorities

Availability: Qualified/Certified signatures may require additional verification steps, third-party certificate authorities, and may not be available in all jurisdictions. Additional fees may apply.

4. Security and Compliance

All CHEEZYSign signatures are transmitted over secure SSL/TLS-encrypted channels and stored with end-to-end encryption. Our system maintains comprehensive audit trails, version control, and tamper-evidence mechanisms to ensure integrity and authenticity of every signed document.

CHEEZYSign is designed to adhere to global e-signature regulations, including:

  • ESIGN Act (USA)
  • UETA (USA)
  • eIDAS (EU)
  • UK Electronic Communications Act
  • Local compliance in other jurisdictions where CHEEZYSign operates (subject to limitations)

I acknowledge that I may request access, correction, or deletion of my personal information at any time, subject to CHEEZYSign’s data retention policies and legal obligations. Consent for Signers Before Signing (NEW — Recommended Addition)

Before signing, the signer should see and accept:

☑ I confirm that I have reviewed and understood the document presented to me. I am signing this document voluntarily and with full knowledge of its contents and implications. I understand that my electronic signature, IP address, device information, email address, and timestamp will be recorded and may be used as evidence of my consent and authorization. I agree that this electronic signature is legally binding and equivalent to my handwritten signature. I acknowledge and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy of CHEEZYSign.

Consent for Payers Before Payment (NEW — Recommended Addition)

Before authorizing payment, the payer should see and accept:

☑ I confirm that I have reviewed and signed the associated document and that I am now voluntarily authorizing this payment of [AMOUNT] in full knowledge of the amount, terms, and purpose. I understand that this payment will be processed by Stripe, Inc. and that my payment authorization, IP address, device information, and timestamp will be recorded and retained as part of CHEEZYSign’s audit trail system. I acknowledge that this payment authorization, together with my prior electronic signature, constitutes comprehensive evidence of an informed, voluntary, and deliberate transaction. I understand and agree that:

(a) This payment is being made in connection with the document I have just reviewed and signed, and I have had full opportunity to review all terms, amounts, and conditions before authorizing this payment.

(b) My electronic signature and this payment authorization together constitute conclusive evidence that I have knowingly and voluntarily agreed to the transaction and authorized this payment.

(c) I will not initiate a chargeback, payment dispute, or payment reversal with my bank, card issuer, or payment network on the basis that this transaction was “unauthorized,” “not recognized,” “fraudulent,” or “made without my knowledge,” as my completion of CHEEZYSign’s multi-step signature-and-payment workflow demonstrates otherwise.

(d) CHEEZYSign’s records of my actions — including my document access, document review, electronic signature, and payment authorization, together with associated IP addresses, timestamps, device information, email verification, and session data — are accurate and may be used as evidence in any chargeback dispute, legal proceeding, arbitration, or other dispute resolution process.

(e) If I initiate a chargeback or payment dispute after completing this authorization, CHEEZYSign and/or the document sender may provide all audit trail records and evidentiary data to the relevant financial institutions, card networks, and dispute resolution bodies to demonstrate that this transaction was authorized and deliberate.

(f) Initiating a fraudulent chargeback — meaning a chargeback filed despite having personally completed this multi-step authorization workflow — may constitute fraud under applicable law and may result in legal action, reporting to fraud prevention databases, and liability for all resulting fees, costs, and damages.

(g) This payment is processed exclusively by Stripe, Inc. CHEEZYSign does not hold, process, or custody any funds. CHEEZYSign’s role is limited to providing the technology platform and generating evidentiary records.

(h) The fees associated with this transaction include Stripe’s processing fee (retained by Stripe) and CHEEZYSign’s platform fee of 1% (retained by CHEEZYSign). The remaining transaction amount flows directly to the payee through Stripe.

(i) I have read and accept CHEEZYSign’s Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Legal Policies, and Amendment 13 (Chargeback Protection), all available at https://cheezysign.com.

(j) I understand that this consent and all associated records will be retained for a minimum of seven (7) years for legal compliance and dispute protection purposes.
